Top 5 Tones for the E-MU Proteus2000
Since it was such a hit with the Integra-7, we
decided to write the code for another popular rack
mount synth, the E-MU Proteus 2000. Using our
special MIDI Shield for the Arduino Leonardo
microcontroller ($15), you can now store your Top
Five tones right at your fingertips. Plus, if you are
using the Stream Deck for DAW editing/navigation,
then it fits perfectly into the cut-out slot in the
plastic enclosure. Responsive arcade-style
pushbuttons are lighted by the MIDI shield power
supply. Just jot down the bank and patch
numbers, then assign them to each of the five
buttons. It stores your favorites in EEPROM
memory on the microcontroller, so when you start
it up, they are ready and waiting. The wiring takes
a while because each button connects to a pin on
the Leonardo, along with the illumination wires.
But the good news is: There is very little soldering
required! Time to assemble: 1 hour.
